As a cat owner I wonder if my cats
should eat as they would if they are in the wild and if they should avoid
carbs. I also wonder if dry food is better than wet food on the theory
that cats should always eat a bit of wet food for hydration. It is not
easy to figure out what the right healthy diet is for a cat, so I put down both
wet and dry food in order to give them a choice. One of their new
favorite cat foods is Dawn's Sky Solid Gold Chicken and Liver cat food. This cat food is on special this month at www.chewy.com making it a good time to try it. At chewy.com this food is discounted from $23.99 to $16.68 and if you order $49 or more chewy.com offers free 1 to 2 day shipping ! There is even more savings if you select their convenient autoship program (I use it all the time) when the cost goes down to $15.85.
If you are
on the "prowl" for a new grain and gluten free cat food, Solid Gold cat food is a great choice to try. I like the fact that there are a lot of essential vitamins and minerals in this cat food and that there is no corn, wheat, soy or artificial colors or flavors in it making it an ideal holistic and healthy choice. Egg products are also in this food providing additional protein plus amino acids that support muscle growth and metabolism.
Sissy Harrington McGill, considered to be a pioneer in the holistic pet food movement began making Solid Gold holistic dog food in 1974. The company was based on Sissy's belief that everyone's pets deserve the best food crafted from fresh, holistic and natural ingredients. Forty years later, this company located in Greenville South Carolina has added grain and gluten free wet cat food to their long list of product offerings. Solid Gold also donates over $1 million dollars worth of food to 15 animal rescue shelters across the United States.

I tried the chicken and liver food formula knowing
that cats are natural carnivores and, I thought that this food would ensure
that my cats are getting protein with its healthful ingredients of chicken and chicken liver that comes in mouthwatering gravy. Sabu really loves this food and, as usual, always curious Ziva is trying to nudge her way in to taste this new food. She seemed to like it too!
Other ingredients include: chicken broth, water sufficient for processing, dried egg product, potato starch, pea fiber, natural flavor, sodium phosphate, salt, potassium chloride, ground flaxseed, choline chloride, calcium carbonate, taurine, guar gum, xanthan gum, cassia gum, iron proteinate, zinc proteinate, vitamin e supplement, thiamine mononitrate, copper proteinate, manganese proteinate, sodium selenite, niacin supplement, d-calcium pantothenate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, vitamin a supplement, biotin, potassium iodide, vitamin d3 supplement, vitamin b12 supplement, and folic acid. My cats loved this new food that is sure to bring out their "inner gold" ! Speaking of gold, the new art show at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield is presenting an exhibition by David Brooks called Continuous Service Altered Daily that consists of a disemboweled 1976 John Deere 3300 series combine harvester into hundreds of individual components ranging from iconic to specific to the common, from rust worn to gold plated.
